About MoodEvo

July 12, 2026

MoodEvo is a mood journal built on a simple bet: that a minute of honest self-observation, repeated daily, does more for emotional wellbeing than most apps that promise to fix you.

No streak-shaming, no gamified guilt, no diagnosis. Just a quiet place to notice what you feel, see the pattern behind it, and — if you want — share it anonymously with people who get it.

What MoodEvo does

  • A 30-second daily check-in: pick a mood, set an intensity, tag what triggered it, add a note if you want.
  • Analytics that turn those check-ins into visible rhythms — mood distribution, day-of-week patterns, and a sleep/mood correlation, computed from your own entries.
  • A pseudonymous community: every account gets an auto-generated alias (like "Gentle Cloud") so you can share and read reflections without your name or email ever being shown.
  • A CBT-informed AI coach that talks through what's on your mind, personalized with an aggregated summary of your recent moods — never your raw notes.
  • A small wellness toolbox: a 4-7-8 breathing exercise, 5-4-3-2-1 grounding, a CBT thought-record worksheet, and a gratitude journal.

How we think about safety

  • Posts and messages that contain crisis-related language (self-harm, suicide) are never blocked or hidden — we don't believe silencing someone in crisis helps them. Instead, we surface hotline resources immediately, both to the person and, where relevant, to anyone reading.
  • Community posts and comments can be reported by any member and are reviewed by a human moderator, not an automated system, before any content is removed.
  • MoodEvo is a self-help and reflection tool, not a medical device or a substitute for therapy, diagnosis, or emergency care. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.

How we think about your data

  • MoodEvo runs on Cloudflare's edge network (Workers + D1). We use Google Analytics for aggregated site traffic only — no ad SDKs, and we do not sell your data.
  • Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA256 and a random salt — we never store or see your plaintext password.
  • You can export every entry you've ever logged as JSON or CSV at any time, and delete your account (and everything in it) yourself from Settings, no support ticket required.
  • The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

How we write (editorial standards)

  • Journal essays are written and edited by the MoodEvo team under the byline MoodEvo. We prioritize lived emotional clarity over clinical claims.
  • We cite practices that are commonly used in self-help and CBT-informed contexts (for example affect labeling, grounding, and soft boundaries) in plain language. We do not claim to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition.
  • When we recommend a practice, we describe what it is, who it may help, and when it is not enough — including crisis language that should go to hotlines or emergency services, not an app.
  • We revise essays when we learn better language or product behavior changes. Each post shows a published date and, when updated, a modified date.
  • Errors, harm, or a correction request: email hello@moodevo.com with the URL and what should change.

Important: not therapy, not emergency care

  • MoodEvo and our journal are self-help tools for reflection and emotional literacy. They are not psychotherapy, medical advice, or a crisis service.
  • If you are in immediate danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area right away. In the product, crisis-related language surfaces hotline resources; that is support, not treatment.
  • If you work with a clinician, you may export your mood history to share with them — we do not replace their care.
